The central emphasis of the Church of the Brethren is not a creed, but a commitment to follow Christ in simple obedience, to be faithful disciples in the modern world. As do most other Christians, the Brethren believe in God as Creator and Sustainer of all creation. We confess the Lordship of Christ, and we seek to be guided by the Holy Spirit in every aspect of life, thought, and mission.
Welcome to the Beaverton Church of the Brethren! We believe that God has brought each of us here today to worship and praise Him.
You will find that we are very family focused and committed to serving Jesus Christ peacefully, simply and together.
Statement of Purpose
The Beaverton Church of the Brethren is a two-fold mission work:
1. The inner mission is to “make disciples” of its member through nurture, instruction and discipline; and to enable members to grow spiritually from infancy to maturity preparing them for a life of service to God, one another, and the larger community.
The people of our church are involved daily with helping our communities and each other. Visit us to learn the peace of God and grow spiritually by participating in the various outreach programs we offer; there’s something for everyone!
“A joyful heart is the normal result of a heart burning with love. She gives most who gives with joy.” ~ Mother Teresa
There are many opportunities to serve through the Brethren Volunteer Services; our assistance helps the needy all over the world. Here is a list of some of the different ways you can help:
In I Peter 1:8 Peter writes, “Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory…” Keep the joy inexpressible and full of glory in 2018!!
“Whoever welcomes one of these little children in my name welcomes me; and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.”
~ Mark 9:37 ~
